This past Friday, February 21st, 2014, we launched our first Gallery Opening in house with two incredible, unique artists, JL Walther, and Heather Croonborg. Coffee was provided by Hansa Coffee Roasters out of Libertyville, IL.
JL Walther is a local photographer who gets most of her inspiration from the Midwest. She loves taking road trips to find her inspiration and found that she loves taking her photos and putting them on wood or metal to give it a different finish rather than paper would.
"I like capturing moments. I like the times when no one is looking. I like finding beauty in the simple things. This often leads to driving around looking for water towers, criss-crossing electrical lines, and capturing THAT LAUGH people make. You know the one." -- JL Walther
Heather Croonborg is a local artist who refurnishes old furniture to give it more of a rugged, romantic look. When you take a look at our pictures, she created the victorian dresser, the coffee bar, the beautiful door and the metal heart and peace sign pieces. "The art of repurpose. Creative salvage, painted and refinished furniture." -- Heather Croonborg
